Hello!
I’m the winner of the Bafta Fulbright Scholarship (academic year 2026-27) and I’m currently in New York City studying a Masters in filmmaking at the School of Visual Arts. During the Fulbright application and award process I would have loved some guidance on things like funding, timelines, and just what to expect. So…below I’ve pulled together some articles based on my experience as a Fulbright winner.
For reference, all my advice is given as a UK winner (specifically from Scotland) heading to the USA to study a filmmaking Masters (Fulbright’s Postgraduate Program). While my specific lens is the UK-to-US track, the Fulbright program operates all around the world. If you are a non-UK citizen, some of this information may be helpful. If you’re applying from England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, I hope that my articles help shed a little light on what Fulbright is and what a Fulbright journey entails.
As always, if you have any questions, you can reach out to me directly here.
